Client Feedback

Hear from some my clients how they found the process of commissioning a work of art. Whether it is a place of sentimental value, a portrait of a loved one or a beloved pet, I love working with clients to bring their visions to life. I love even more to hear that they are enjoying the artworks in their homes. Have a look a some of the messages I have received from clients once they have received their final artwork.

The process of engaging with Georgette to produce the most beautiful painting of the Kaikoura Ranges for my husband’s birthday was an absolute delight from start to finish. I had originally been looking for a photograph, but when Georgette reached out and suggested a painting instead, I checked out her website and straight away knew that she would do an amazing job. She gently steered me away from some of my not so great ideas and incorporated some of my better ones, and we landed on a stunning image which she worked from to produce the painting. Georgette kept me up to date all the way through the process, and to say that we are completely delighted with the end result is an understatement - it has definitely exceeded my expectations. We now have the painting hanging in our lounge, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. Thanks Georgette - we will definitely use you again!

We always wanted to have a painting of Naseby in our Dunedin home. So after meeting Georgette (through her soon-to-be in-laws 😊) and discovering she enjoyed painting landscapes, we’d found our artist!
Georgie came to Naseby in May 2018 armed with her camera and her artistic eye, and at 7.30 on a chilly Maniototo morning, captured the shot that has become ‘Colours of Coalpit’

Working with Georgie was a delight from start to finish. She kept us up to speed with pictorial progress reports which made us feel part of her artistic journey as she created this stunning work.

When Georgie told us it was going to take about nine months to produce the landscape we wondered if she’d experience a bit of trauma separating from her ‘baby’, but recently, with the help of her fiancé, Mark, she transported her creation South and handed her ‘baby’ over. It was one thing to see pictures of ‘Coalpit’ in production, but the real thing has surpassed our expectations. Attention to detail is impeccable and we love that Georgie has used her creative license in adding a fisherman to the scene!

From the comfort of our living room we now get to see the beauty of our much-loved Maniototo every day, and of course the talent of one very clever Georgette Thompson.

Georgie is professional in her approach and her talent speaks for itself. If you’ve been thinking about getting an original art work, we would highly recommend Georgie to be your artist.

We can’t thank Georgie enough for the time and thought she put into our commission. It was a wedding present from me to my husband and I got Georgie to sneak out and take a photo to paint from of the vista of our farm. She got a great shot and was happy to change things in the shot for me, throwing in some cows and nice green grass instead of crop. She even ‘broke into’ our house while we were away on our honeymoon to hang the painting above our fireplace. It was a wonderful surprise for my husband and I to come home to!

Georgie is so talented and such a professional and we love working with her. We have since used her for another project and already have ideas for future commissions! We highly recommend her.
Thank you Georgie!

Hi Georgette,

I’m very pleased to let you know that your beautiful charcoal drawing of Dozer was a huge success. After a few tears, Sarah was absolutely delighted with the picture. She confirmed my view that you’ve caught him perfectly. Not only have you drawn him accurately and as we remember him, but somehow, you can get a real sense of peace from the image. It’s a picture I can look at for a long time and remember some very happy times together.

Thank you for working closely with me through this project, right down to the presentation of the final result and assisting with the selection of a suitable frame and mount. It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable experience from beginning to end. I will most certainly recommend you to friends who are looking for similar artwork.

Many thanks once again from a very satisfied client.

Georgette was exceptional, talking through feelings and thoughts about the landscape. She turned the original photo into a masterpiece, capturing the unique texture of light sparkling off distant mountains.

The painting hangs in my living room, providing a window into the memory of standing atop a snow-capped mountain while clouds storm across the sky and the sun shines on a valley teeming with life.

I would like to thank Georgette for the beautiful job she made of the painting of my Dad. After seeing the portrait Georgette had painted of Dad’s brother Jack, Georgette’s Grandfather, I had to see about getting painting done of Dad. The price and the job was fantastic. The painting had to be done in secret because it was a surprise for Mum. I flew to New Zealand from Australia to pick up the painting and surprised Mum. She loved it. Everything went well.
Thanks. Colin

Georgette not only captured a perfect likeness of Reuben, my mother-in-law’s beloved Golden Labrador – she also captured his energy and spirit, creating a beautiful work of art that will ensure his memory lives on for years to come.

Hi Georgie

I wanted to let you know how much we love the sketch you did of our two friends Bailey and Troy. Richard loved the surprise and says that their eyes follow him around the room. You made the process so easy and managed to create an amazing replica of those two mischievous dogs from an assortment of photos as they just would not sit still together. Thank you so much.

I picked up my framed sketch of Lochie yesterday. So happy with the end result. Once again thank you so much, you are very talented

I created this sketch from a reference photo that was a blurry photo of a photo in a frame. The detail was soft so I researched plenty of other Border Collies to get an understanding of the fur and other details.
